Times have changed
March 26, 2007
The earliest I remember the Internet being important in my life was in middle school and many of my teachers began assigning library projects using the Internet. In terms of communication the Internet has expanded significantly, web cams, emails, aol aim, msn messanger, online dating websites, blogs, chatting, etc. It is now possible to talk to people around the world in seconds. The Internet has definitely became more available since it began, now you can use it at home, on your phone, at school, at the library everywhere. It is no longer used just by computer owners or business people. The use of the internet has also changed, now the Internet is used for more than just emails and web browsing. Shopping online, online banking, online magazines, online news, online television and radio are now all available to the world.
The creation of the Internet has definitely changed how the world works for the better but such issues like privacy and security are now becoming a prominent issue. Im sure in the next ten years the problems we face with the Internet will be resolved and it will be better than ever.
I agree that in 10 years a lot of things will be different. But, will it be for the better? Maybe governments will start censoring the internet just like some countries are doing for Google and YouTube. Maybe it will be so much more confined and restricted that it won’t nearly be as cool at is now. Although, I do agree that with Wifi and Bluetooth, a lot of things are becoming much more technologically advanced and useful.
I don’t know if the problems with security and privacy will be solved in 10 years or if we will just be dealing with new problems or just evolved problems of what we have now.
